Elliptical Reviews Over $2000
Here we try to help you find and evaluate the best elliptical machines costing over $2,000. Now, I know what you are thinking - who spends that much on an exercise machine? Well you'd be surprised at just how popular trainers in this price range are. And for good reasons.
Ellipticals have in general come down in price as their popularity grows and new models and makers enter the market - that's great news! But a problem exists where people first try an elliptical at their local gym and love the exercise - then they are looking for this quality of workout from an affordable trainer at home.
Some mid range machines do a decent job at replicating that gym feel but in all honesty to get a true gym quality elliptical, you need to splash the cash - preferably over $2,000 I'm afraid.
You Get What You Pay For
You've heard it before and with these trainers it is true in most cases. Who spends this amount on a home elliptical? Serious users - there is no point spending this much money unless you are a heavy duty user. If you are in this category of user, you can actually get great value from these top end machines in the long term.
Machines in this price range last a long, long time with very little maintenance required. They are often the same machines you'll find at the local gym and they are worth the expense to many people. But, all machines are not equal - and expensive does not necessarily mean good! It is important to choose wisely when spending so much money.
My Top Picks Over $2000
At the lower end, I particularly like two machines:
The Yowza Islamorada
This is a real competitor in this price bracket - one capable of competing with Precor ellipticals. The quality of the ride is key to the success of this trainer. Features start to level out when you go up the prices - the real value is in build quality and workout quality. They all have great features - auto inclines, loads of settings and programs.
You need to focus on workout quality. This one is a winner and has met with a great response from other users. Read my full Yowza Islamorada Review here.
The Precor EFX 222
This one has replaced the EFX 5.25 as my top pick. It has all of the things you love about Precor ellipticals and is one of their more affordable models. As you'll see, their prices go way up - choosing the EFX 222 will give you that gym quality workout and not bankrupt you in the process!
The Very Best Ellipticals?
When talking about the top end ellipticals it is impossible not to come across several Precor models. They are one of the oldest makers and they are still ahead of the competition at least at the expensive end of the market. There is no such thing as a cheap Precor!
The Precor EFX 835
You can go as high as your wallet allows, but my ultimate pick is the EFX 835. Really, I have yet to use a machine which is significantly better and costs less. It is hard to describe it as value for money - but for some people it is!
It isn't the most expensive elliptical available - they do go higher - but for me it is the best. Unfortunately, I have to settle for using one at my local gym - I can't justify that price tag. But I do dream!
