Schwinn Elliptical Trainers

Schwinn Fitness have a history reaching back many years and were originally makers of bikes and more recently other exercise equipment. They have extended into making decent, low to mid range - affordable elliptical machines.

They don't try to compete with the big names in the top end of the market - such as Precor or even Yowza - but they do have a couple of really good trainers worth looking at.

With Schwinn ellipticals you will not get all the fancy features, with countless add-ons, but a good honestly priced trainer and a decent workout. They are known for including a large range of pre-programmed workouts - more than most!

They have two stand out machines that I believe are the best value in their small range.

Schwinn A 40

Schwinn A40 review image

This is their budget elliptical model and sells for under $$ - amazing considering what you get. Ellipticals at this price can sometimes be disappointing in terms of the quality of workout but with this model you get a very decent surprise.

It has 8 resistance levels and 7 pre-set programs offering more than enough challenge to beginners and moderate users. It feels sturdy and gives a good workout - which is why I think it is a good model in this price bracket.

Schwinn 430 Elliptical

This one steps up a bit in price and of course quality. It is still at the lower price range and competes well with other makers. The workout is good quality and it comes with a whopping 20 resistance levels and 22 programs - well beyond any other machine near it's price!

It is a very good value machine and stands out at this price range.

As I mentioned, Schwinn concentrate on a small range of elliptical trainers, but they do them well and they are growing in popularity. They also get good reviews online from users. Definitely worth a look as an alternative to some of the big names - and offering great value for money.

Their main range covers only low to mid range elliptical trainers - good enough to get started but if you are a serious user and intend to use the machine a lot - you really need to consider spending a little more. Check out the range $1-2,000 and see what you think.
